Raised amongst poachers, brigands, and cultists in a clan called the Brand, known for their worship of Trellyx, an offspring of the dragon god Task who made a deal with Bhaal to usurp his father; they sought to satiate their greed through violence and death. Among them, Pom had no name but The Wild-Eyed, and was infamous along the Sword Coast in particular for his brutality. He was especially known for his dual knifes and vicious look he got when making his kills.
(And when he left that life behind, he changed just about everything he could -- new name, new look, dyed hair, etc. He hides his eye color behind dark shades. They're hiding from a lot of people at this point: the Brand, mercenaries, and any hero-types who would want to take them out for the good of the region. Wyll would know who he was for sure if he found out his identity.)
Purl appears to be a tabaxi who had been brought to the Sword Coast via another branch of the clan. Tabaxi are a prized rarity in many parts of Faerûn, occasionally kept as slaves, servants, and glorified pets. Being that she's fairly small, painfully cute, and good-natured (all especially by tabaxi standards), this made her a worthwhile asset to be sold to the right buyer. Pom tends to claim she's a familiar. (Spoiler: she is neither of these things, and someone with strong knowledge of the arcane or the occult might realize this.)
Pom still has a brother, and his brother still sucks. He does not talk about his brother. He does not acknowledge his brother exists.
Primarily plays the lute, and in an ambidextrous fashion; other musicians might pick up on this as a sign that he's self-taught. He plays basically every instrument like this, and is quick to pick up new ones. His instruments all have a handmade/janky quality to them, and he works on them frequently as a hobby.
Anyone who spends more than five minutes with him probably realizes that's not a natural hair color. He's constantly collecting berries and certain extracts to make more dye for his hair.
He has an accent that occasionally slips into certain words. Speaks two languages: Chondathan and Payit. He knows enough Common to get by.
